Dog and Animal Grooming: General Field of Study Info

Dog and animal grooming operations provide cosmetic services for pets and other animals. This includes household pets, service animals such as seeing-eye dogs, and show animals. Dog and animal grooming workers, often called groomers, must have an understanding of animal health and psychology, human-animal interaction, animal safety, as well as knowledge of proper care for an animal's coat, skin and nails. It is essential for groomers to have a fundamental understanding of animal health and be able to administer first aid for pets and other animals.
