Digital Imaging Design: General Overview
There are many job possibilities for professionals with a background in digital imaging design and desktop publishing. Desktop publishers use computer software programs to create page layouts and designs for books, magazines, newspapers and other printed documents. Careers in desktop publishing generally require an associate's or bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Computer Science or a related field. Desktop publishers must be exceptionally detail oriented in order to make each aspect of a page perfect! Digital imaging designers use advanced computer technology to manipulate and transform digital images for use in print and Internet advertisements, commercials, movies, television programs and articles in periodicals. Digital imaging careers combine aspects of marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design and other fields. A degree or certification in one of these fields is recommended.
