Computer Systems Engineering Technology: General Information
Computer systems engineering technicians support computer networks and other linked computer systems. Their duties may include designing and building a physical network configuration, installing proper network security and information sharing software, helping users navigate the network and maintaining all aspects of the network. An associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Technology, Network Information, Computer Science or a similar field is generally required. In these programs students study mathematics, computer hardware, networking protocols, digital security, computer programming and more. According to Salary.Com, the median salary for a computer systems administrator is over $65,000 per year!
