Property Management Professionals: General Information
Property management professionals go by many different names, including landlords, groundskeepers, superintendents (supers) and more. Their duties include maintaining and managing apartments, condominiums, rental homes, office buildings and other structures. They may be called upon to perform simple repairs, resolve tenant disputes and hire outside professionals to perform large repairs and maintenance projects. Property managers may live and work in the same building (often for free or reduced rent!) or spend time servicing a variety of properties. An associate's degree in business, excellent communications skills and some knowledge of plumbing, electricity, duct work and carpentry can all help those looking to become property managers.
