Ship and Watercraft Maintenance Technology Degrees: General Info
A Marine maintenance technician is trained to apply his expertise to the maintenance and repair of ships and various types of watercraft. A Ship and Watercraft Maintenance Technology instructs the student in repairing sails, propellers, engines - both inboard and outboard, steering systems and electrical systems. Students are trained to repair a number of mediums on ships - wood, fiberglass and metal. The ability to test and trouble shoot the equipment on any number of watercraft, ships and boats is also taught in a ship and watercraft maintenance technology degree program.
