Robotic engineering technicians work with engineering professionals, computer programmers and other technically skilled professionals to develop the latest and most advanced robots. Today robots are often called upon to perform tasks that are unsuitable for human workers, like drilling for oil in a dangerous environment, mining minerals from the bottom of the ocean, collecting data in the middle of a hurricane or volcanic eruption or fabricating and assembling tiny precision parts used in automobiles, watches and other intricate devices. An associate's degree in Robotic Engineering Technology can provide the theoretical background in computer science, mathematics, physics and other fields necessary to be an important part of the robotics engineering process.
