Duties of a Surgical Technologies Professional
Surgical technicians assist surgeons, nurses and other medical professionals before, during and after surgical procedures. Surgical techs help set up the operating room, ensuring that all necessary supplies, tools and equipment are at hand. They also help to prepare patients for their procedure. During the surgery, they may be required to transport tissue specimens to other hospital departments and laboratories. After the surgery is over, they must clean and reorganize the operating room and monitor patients in recovery.
