Most health care facilities administration professionals hold at least a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, Health Care Policy or a similar field. More and more prospective health care administrators are electing to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a Health Care Management emphasis. This advanced degree program teaches students the fundamentals of management along with the latest business leadership strategies. Also included are courses that teach health care specific information with regards to finance, employee relations, patient rights, public policy and ethics. Many health care administrators at large urban hospitals, private clinics and nursing homes and insurance companies may earn over $100,000 a year, according to Salary.com.
