Rehabilitation Therapy Degrees: General Info

Rehabilitation therapists help their clients recover from illness or injury to regain their former physical and mental skills. Rehab therapists may help patients regain cognitive functions, including problem solving skills, money handling abilities or simply the mental acumen needed to function. Other therapists specialize in physical rehabilitation, aiding patients in the recovery of lost muscle mass, coordination and agility. Some physical therapists specialize in helping elite athletes recover from injury, while others work with those patients who have suffered from physical or mental illness. Most rehabilitation therapists hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy or a related field.
