Education for Teaching Aides: General Info
An education for teaching aides is not as demanding or intense as it is for teachers. Teacher's aides in many schools are not required to have a bachelor's degree. An associate's degree in education or the subject you would like to work in, such as biology, will often be enough. However, a higher degree almost always increases your chance for higher pay. Teacher's aides provide support for teachers and often perform time consuming tasks, such as record keeping, freeing the teacher for more teaching time. They also work with students in the classroom, stand cafeteria or playground watch, provide help with classroom control and work one on one with students needing extra help.
