Pursuing a Degree in Law
A law degree program of study will equip graduates to pursue the practice of law. Graduates will be prepared to take state and national law examinations to be granted the right to practice law professionally. A law degree takes several years to complete and covers topics such as the theory and practice of law, legal research, ethics and moral issues, administrative, statutory and judicial parts of the law. A graduate degree is an advanced academic degree awarded by universities and graduate schools. The most common graduate degrees are master's degrees and doctoral degrees. A master's degree program typically takes one to two years to complete and serves as preparation for employment of doctoral studies. A doctoral degree program, which is the highest level of graduate study, can take up to five years to complete.
